About TREATMENT

Dental implant surgery is a type of dental prothesis that allows restoring the health and natural beauty of the smile after losing one, several or all teeth. During this procedure, a small screw-like dental implant that mimics the function of an artificial root is placed into the jawbone at the site of the lost tooth. Once the implant has fused with the bone, an artificial tooth is attached to it. The implant surgery itself usually takes about an hour, and the implant takes three to six months to integrate into the bone. The duration of the latter depends on the initial condition of the bone.

IS IT NECESSARY TO RESTORE A LOST TOOTH?

SAME-DAY DENTAL IMPLANTS

Single-stage dental implant placement, performed at our Clinic, is an advanced technique which involves the removal of a tooth that is beyond repair and the insertion of an implant in its place during a single visit to the dental surgeon. This shortens the healing time, letting the patient enjoy a healthy smile sooner. For a more comfortable recovery period, we place a temporary tooth after the procedure to ensure aesthetics, which is replaced with a permanent tooth once the implant has fully fused. However, single-stage dental implants are not suitable for everyone: we do not perform this procedure on patients diagnosed with jawbone tissue inflammation, cysts, bone tissue deficiency, or extremely poor condition of adjacent teeth. When looking for the most effective dental treatment solution for you, we always take into account the individual condition of your oral health.

How do we perform this treatment?

We have been specialising in implantology for over 25 years, therefore, knowing the advantages and disadvantages of dental implants and being familiar with other methods of tooth restoration, we only use this method when it is rational. Moreover, we never perform implant surgery without finding out why you lost your teeth in the first place. It is particularly important to eliminate these causes, as they can lead to the loss of the dental implants too. If implant surgery is recommended, we will restore your smile using implants that have been carefully selected and proven in practice, with a success rate of 96 to 100%.

    TREATMENT PLAN

During the consultation, you will have your remaining teeth, gums, and jaws carefully examined, a panoramic dental X-ray and detailed 3D CT scan will be performed. We will also listen to your expectations and develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

    PREPARATION

If there is insufficient bone in your jaw, the bone augmentation procedure is performed before or during implant placement. In this way, the necessary bone volume is restored, which is particularly important for safe implant placement and long-term implant stability. If need be, gum augmentation is also performed.

    IMPLANT SURGERY

During the surgical procedure, performed under local anaesthesia, a dental implant is threaded into the jawbone. If circumstances allow, a temporary prosthesis is fitted immediately after implant surgery, enabling you to smile throughout the entire healing period.

D.U.K.

The dental implant surgery is a procedure performed under local anaesthesia. For your comfort, we always numb the gum with topical medication before the injection.
In order to select the most appropriate anaesthetics and determine their dosage individually, each patient at our Clinic fills out a questionnaire. The procedure is performed using time-tested methods that allow you to feel more comfortable in the doctor’s chair.

After any surgical procedure, including dental implant surgery, we will provide you with a list of guidelines on how to properly care for your mouth, what to eat, and what to expect after the procedure. We will also prescribe appropriate medication to relieve any pain. You will be able to purchase the necessary dental care products at our Clinic. To ensure smooth healing, we recommend that you do not rinse your mouth on the first day after the procedure, as this may wash away the scab that has formed. After a few days following a more extensive procedure, swelling of the cheek or bruising may occur. This is a natural bodily reaction to the procedure. To ensure a smoother healing process, choose soft, lukewarm, and bland foods and drinks for the first few days and refrain from smoking and alcohol consumption. It is also recommended to postpone intense physical activity for a few weeks. The stitches are removed after ten days, and after this procedure, you can gradually return to your normal lifestyle.

Dental implants are made of titanium or its alloys, i.e. materials that are not rejected by the body. This unique feature enables osseointegration: bone grows around the artificial root, locking it in place.

Dental implants are a long-lasting solution for restoring lost teeth that can last for decades or even a lifetime. However, the actual duration depends greatly on thorough daily and periodic professional teeth cleaning. Therefore, we will introduce you to the proper daily care of implanted teeth, which will ensure the longevity of the implants.

Dental implants are usually made of titanium, its alloys or zirconium oxide ceramics, which are safe and hypoallergenic materials widely used in medicine and distinguished by their excellent biocompatibility with body tissues.

There are probably more than 1,500 different dental implant systems in the world, which differ in terms of their technological level and manufacturing culture. However, it is important not to be tempted by the price or advertising gimmicks: these artificial roots are threaded into our bodies, so the most important thing is to consider the long-term prospects for the use of dental implants.
When choosing an implant system, it is advisable to have clear answers to the following questions:
• Is this a time-tested manufacturer that values its name?
• Are the specific implants scientifically proven?
• Is the manufacturer well known to implantologists and will there be any problems later if the prostheses need to be repaired in different countries?
• Is the work culture of specific dental implant manufacturers high?
• If a dental implant fails to fuse, will this cast doubt on the manufacturer’s reliability?
• How does the bone respond to specific dental implants over time?
At our clinic, we only use implants that have been carefully selected and proven in practice, with a success rate of 96 to 100 per cent and capable of lasting a lifetime.
